I've been noticing for quite awhile that my phone, Nokia E66, was unable to receive MMS nor send any. I had all my settings downloaded from Maxis yet it always said "packet data not allowed". I didnt try to figure how to solve it as MMS wasnt popularly used nowadays when people have broadband, Bluetooth and now Facebook.
Anyway, yesterday I received a MMS but as usual I cant access it from my phone. I have to login online to see and download it. I then start troubleshooting as well as searching the internet for solution as of why this is happening.
Apparently, it is this "APN control" that is playing the trick. You may find it at Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > APN control. Go in and choose "deactivate" and the problem is solved. For people who are using 3G to online they might not have this problem but I never try to use 3G to surf with my phone before (I did try before but it has shown me the same "packet data not allowed"), so I never realise the existence of this "APN control" that is blocking the connectionof GPRS and 3G.
p/s: Been using my Nokia E66 for about 1 year now, and I am still loving it! The next phone I might change to will only be Blackberry or iPhone, I guess. No particular reason for me to change a new phone at this moment and maybe for the next few years!
