My new iPod Touch 8GB 3rd Gen
I ended up buying a totally new iPod Touch, 8GB 3rd generation. 3rd generation for 8GB doesnt really exist as the proper way of saying it is just 8GB 2nd generation with upgraded (latest) firmware, which is 3.1.3 for mine. The actual 3rd generation only consist of 32GB and 64GB, which is quite expensive and I dont actually need that big of space, at least not now.
Anyway, I bought my iTouch for RM700, a brand new one. Retail price is actually RM779 but you can get it alot cheaper if you buy from oversea or from dealer who buy them from oversea. For example, iTouch 8GB is just SGD308 for retail price and other authorize seller on eBay sell it for SGD280. Converting them to RM is way cheaper!
The 1st thing I do after buying my iTouch is..... nothing. I was waiting for my ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD which I ordered online. Cost me RM75 including PosLaju. The reason being, I dont wanna scratch the bare surface of my iTouch. Yes, this is how much I care for my gadgets. Believe me or not, my Nokia E66 never once dropped on the floor. =P
The shield reached on the 2nd day where I then start to apply it. DIM (do it myself). I did alot of reading online on how to apply the shield. Surprisingly, I still failed to apply it properly for the back-shield. The front-shield was kinda easy though.
I have to let the shield rest for like 12 hours before I can start using the iTouch, so I did. The next thing I do after initiating the iTouch is to register and learn how to sync songs into it. It isnt that hard. Next, I wanna start install the games I downloaded earlier on some forums. Yeah the games are cracked so without jail-breaking you cant install it. Hence, jail-break it is!Jailbreaking is a process that allows iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users to run any code on their devices, as opposed to only that code authorized by Apple. Once jailbroken, iPhone users are able to download many applications previously unavailable through the App Store via unofficial installers such as Cydia, as well as illegally pirated apps. A jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch is still able to use and update apps downloaded and purchased from Apple's official App Store. It is a safe process and even if you fail you can just "restore" your iTouch to its original firmware, so why not? =P
Upon jail-breaking, go into Cydia and search and install "AppSync OS3.1" and whoa-la, now you can sync cracked application through iTunes!
For guides to jailbreak, refer here.
There is various sites and forums who support cracked apps. Here's one - iModZone.
I am so enjoying my new toy =P
Money concern, I seldom spend this much money on one thing so it is quite pain for my wallet, but I dont regret buying it!
