In conjunction with PESTA KONVO 2008, MMU Cyberjaya Campus is organizing "PESTA KONVO 2008- WALL CLIMBING AND PESTA KONVO PAINTBALL CHALLENGE 2008".

Most probably, I will be taking part!

Not the wall climbing, but the paintball challenge!

Details of the competition as below:
PESTA KONVO PAINTBALL CHALLENGE 2008

Date : 16th - 17th August 2008
Venue : Hockey field (Behind Tennis court)
Registration Fees: RM 200 per team (1000 pellets given), 5 peoples per team

Prizes:
1st Place: RM1500 + certificate + Goodies bag
2nd Place: RM1000 + certificate + Goodies bag
3rd Place: RM750 + certificate + Goodies bag
4rd to 8th place: RM100 + certificate + Goodies bag
My aim: 1st place!

We get a lot of valuable experience by letting a few team screwed us in the previous competition held by My-NPL so this time, we are gonna seriously try to screw people in this competition!

Team Screwball's lineup will most probably be the same unless someone doesnt feel like joining.

As a matter of fact, if we are joining this competition for serious game, we need to be investing quite a lot of money.

1st important thing is, the "pods harness"!

This is how it looks like, the "pods harness".

Why do we need this? It is where the paintballers keep their pods! As I mentioned before, those pros carry at least 4 pods in to the game. They most probably wont face any run-out-of-pellets like any other noob team (such as us). They carry their pods in the game using "pods harness" while us, we carry 1 pod only and we carry it in our pocket =.=

The price for "pods harness" range from RM 150 - RM350. Of course we are aiming for the cheapest one then. This will be long-term investment because if we are to play more paintball, we surely need one sooner or later.

Other than pods harness, we need to buy enough pods too!

Pods.

Without enough pods, what's the point of pods harness? This, cost RM 15 for a new one. We need to buy at least 3 (as we already have 1 old one from the previous competition) so that will be RM 45. This is also for long-term investment in paintball game.

Registration fee is RM 40 per person (RM 200 per team), cheaper than the registration fees for My-NPL competition which is RM 50 per person (RM 250 per team).

Meanwhile, 1 box of pellets will be sold RM 20 more than the price at My-NPL. We will need to pay for the price of RM 220 for one box with 2000 pellets if we participate in this competition. Still in the middle of searching for better price out there. If we are to climb all the way up to final, 1 person need to use up at least 1 box. Pain in the wallet!

Well, to sum it up:
RM 40 (registration fees)
RM 150 (for 1 pods harness)
RM 45 (for 3 pods)
RM 220 (for 1 box of pellets)
RM 30 (estimation for petrol money go and forth Cyberjaya)
All in total: RM 485!

I just got my money from PTPTN and now I need to spend so much again! Seriously need to think properly whether to join or not. Even if we are to win 1st prize, we still didnt earn any money but rugi!

In the end, I think I still will join the competition because I wouldnt wanna miss out the fun, although its a pain in the wallet and also a pain in my arse (if so unlucky kena shot at my arse)!
