So, they are making a new OVA for Initial D, this time titled "Extra Stage 2"

It was announced in chapter 530 of the Initial D manga and it will be air on Japanese pay-per-view on October 3rd, 2008 and will soon be available on DVD on December 5th.

This new OVA I think probably takes place sometime during or after 4th stage, or whenever Takumi is off doin his Project D business, and will follow Iketani as he tries to make up and reconnect with Mako once again, after not being able to make it to their promised arranged meeting back in the First Stage.

Half a year ago, Iketani wasn’t able to meet up with Mako after they promised to meet at a certain time and place, due to some complications on Iketani’s part and ended up being too late. Since then he hasn’t been able to apologize her, so it seems Mako, who had fallen completely in love with Iketani, was left with a rather painful memory. One day, Iketani is out at a service station somewhere on a mountain road, and much to his surprise, bumps into Mako and her navigator Sayuki. When he finally resolves to apologize to her, Mako comes forth with another promise to meet again at a certain place, as she has something she wants to say to him.

On the day of the arranged meeting, Iketani leaves 2 hours ahead of time so he won’t be late. When he arrives, he finds a lost old guy there, who apparently can’t find his way to his destination. Iketani’s a nice guy, so he ends up driving/showing the guy the way (towards North Karuizawa). On the way back, while on the Usui pass (Mako and Sayuki’s domain with the Sileighty), he blows a tire. Just his luck, will he be able to meet with Mako on this second chance, or was it just not meant to be…?
