IDUG, International DB2 Users Group is currently sponsoring a contest about XQuery, XML and DB2. The main objective of the contest is to promote and increase the awareness and familiarity of people with XQuery, XML and DB2.

There are a few series of this IDUG contest to join such as Video Mania, Query Challenge, and Programming Contest.

Video Mania - Talk about anything related to IBM, XML or DB2 through a song, a skit, a screen cast, a dance, a documentary or any other way you think will win you a prize. Prizes are awarded monthly and the final winner at the ASEAN level will get to walk away with a Nintendo Wii!

Query Challenge - Learn XML and query language (related to DB2) and put the knowledge into practice. Apply the knowledge to real life through writing queries to find multiple choice answers in an XML version of CIA World Factbook. Prizes will be given to winners at both the country and ASEAN level.

Programming Contest - Write an application with your team using IBM and point out how your solution specifically takes advantage of pureXML or other XML technologies. Impress the judges with your team entry and be awarded with attractive prizes!
