Kuching Trip Day 2

What we always do before a day starts. We took a group photos before we departed for travel destinations. We did not plan this trip earlier and everything was spontaneous. Abang was supposed to bring us to Mount Serapi and Ranchan Park today. Unfortunately, both places can not be accessed due to the flood. We were quite disappointed at the first place as we drove quite a distance to these places. Wihtout giving up we tried few other tourist attractions signboard which we saw along the road just now. Tea plantation was closed too. We did not not have the luck to visit the Hot Spring too. We started to blame the bad wheather for ruining our day.
After few hours of "driving"(only), we stopped by at a Chinese Village (华人新村) to have our lunch. We surveyed the shops in that area and try to spot a shop with more customers. Finally, we decided to have it at "Liew Kee Cafe".

Tangtang! We ordered another 2 specialities of local food. The left one is "Kolok Mee" (quite similar to the Wantan Mee in Peninsular, just that the mee is more "chewy"). While the right one is "Tomato Mee". It is special in the way that the mee was fried before poured with special made tomato sauce.
Without giving up, we head to another destination after lunch. Our target now was the Bidayuh Long House Village! After a few times asking route to reach there, we reached there! The scenery there was breathtaking! Despite the drizzling rain out there, we insisted to visit the long house village. We parked the car aside and started to explore the village with an umbrella in hand. The village was really beautiful (traditional and original) with lots of moutains behind.

Different views of the Bidayuh Long House Village
At last, I appear in the shots! I just can not resist the enchanting scenery. (Thanks for the part-time camera man, Bryant for capturing such a good pose of me. LOL) During the photo seesion, we manage to talk with one of the aunty there (Orang Asli who well versed in English). According to her, we were lucky to come on that day because the flood was very serious 2 days past.
Yeap, everyone loves this place so much! we took some group photos here.
I think this is one of my best shot at the village. This is an eggplant planted by the villager beside the Long House. I'm sure the vegetable here is "Got-Chicken" (有机)
Last but not least, I must mention about this special starcase of the Long House. It was made by coconut tree trunk. (very steep and slippery in this weather)
Next station, we headed to the Semenggoh Forestry. At first, we don't know what we will encounter there. We only realised we can see Orang Utan (人猿) at the forestry. Also we are very very lucky because we reached there 300pm and it was the time they feed the Orang Utan! yeepee....without hesitation, we bought the tickets and enter the park!

The "big Boss", oldest Orang Utan in that forest. They named it "Richie". We were told that "he" seldom appear even when the food was served. Another lucky day for us to witness him! Obviously, he was the biggest among all the Orang Utan. I'm impressed because this is the first time I see animal in such a natural way. (without cage , rope, or chain) It's real widlife. We also being told that sometimes none of them appear during feeding time.
"Richie" again. Right: a female Orang Utan with a baby in her arm. (very cute)
Yea! another successful trip. Try to see how many orang utan are there in this photo. (Many on the tree. Probably some can not bee seen in the photos because quite far away)
We spent quite a long time at the park observing the action of the Orang Utan. Enjoyed watching them. Time to head back and have our dinner. Like we planned earlier, we went to try the 'ROck Road Restaurant" that we missed on the first day. This time, the timing was correct!

we needed to pick the dishes we wanted to order by choosing the raw material. Even the seafood, they will pick the one we requested for from the aquarium. So fresh!
These were what we had ordered:
Top (from left): Sea Cucumber Soup, Orange Chicken, 蚝煎
Bottom (from left): Sesame Chicken, Money Vegetable, Sweet Sour Fish
Time to find a place and have our walk after dinner. The shooping malls were all closed sharp at 1000pm. So we just have to pick any street and walk around. We decided to find the last statue that we haven take photo with. It's very near with the "China Town/ Street".
Last cat statue (among 3). Took a group photos! Then we started to "SS" (syok sendiri) there. Many patterns and posings

Who can be the best cat-man? (6 silly boys)
The photo session last for almost half an hour. LOL. All love modelling so much.
Left: Electric shock prank photo. Right: we passed by a "Ba kua" shop and try few slices. The taste was good. Most importantly the boss have many different flavours. We tried the orginal one and a spicy one. Few were thinking of buying some back to peninsular. However, they did not do it as we need to save the space in luggage for pepper and souvenirs! \
Lastly, before the day ends, we take some night sentimental photos. LOL. Looked stupid but the effects were actually out of expectation. Check these out!
