"Valkyrie"
(watched on Saturday 10.30 night at MBO Cinema, Melaka)
Another movie based on true story or more precisely real history.
This is a movie showing how the last attempt to assassinate Hitler was being planned and plotted. Before i watched this movie, i have heard various opinions and saw different reviews on this movie. Negative and positive comments are quite equal, 50:50.
However, i convinced myself that there must be a reason the movie get nominated. (and probably won some awards by now. Not really sure)
Well, after i watched the movie, i think that it was really GREAT!
I'll definitely rate more than 8 if the total marks are 10.
Many people said that the movie is dull and boring.
I could only conclude (or perhaps my own hypothesis) a few things here:

- They don't really know who the hell is Hitler. (like what Justin told MS earlier) Not knowing this person, you will definitely do not feel the intense atmosphere of the assassination attempt. If you think that person just a damn old soldier general, then of course the movie is boring.

- They do not know the background of the history and what Hitler had done. By knowing (at least) how Hitler ruined his own country through dictatorship and being a mad War-Lord, you will at least know why the assassination was so desperately (yet, still not much dare to do it) done.

- They do not know why the operation need to be done so secretively (in other word, so well-planned and "underground"). Many would think why don't just bang him anywhere when he show in the public. There are too many political issues and considerations involves. Worse, it's war time at that period, it involved military consideration too.

- They just go there for Tom Cruise

- They thought all Tom Cruise movie is stunning action movie. (please please identify your preference towards movie and do some homework before you watch any movie. Don't go for a action movie and expect it to be funny. )

I get to know this guy when i start to play PC war games during secondary school.
Started to search some info about him and listened some of it from my dad.
Watch this movie if you really wish to know what happened in the last assassination.

Oath of Allegiance before August 2, 1934

The Fuehrer Oath (effective August 2, 1934)

to the Fuehrer of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler,
Supreme Commander of the Wehrmacht,
and, as a brave soldier,
I will be ready at any time
to stake my life for this oath."

Not only a dictator to be feared of,
but also a ideal socialist who was able to convince his people
not only to respect him, but render unconditional obedience.
But this movie did not really show how he did it. Just merely the plotting of the assassination.
