Happening Saturday ( part 2 )

Continue from the previous post of my happening Saturday on 7th of March.
After the IVAQ visit, i went home and take a short nap before I sent my sayang to cut hair.
We headed to a hair and beauty saloon in the town, Le'Vogue to cut her hair first.
The result was quite satisfying. (at least for me) But it's not the short hair she initially wanted.
We leaved the saloon and headed straight for our dinner at Dataran Pahlawan.
Where we ate? She felt like eating Hong Kong delicacies, so we chose Wong Kok Char Chan Teng (旺角茶餐厅). It was our first time dinning in that restaurant.
comment about the food? I would say only up to average 60% out of 100%.

atmosphere and settings of the restaurant.

sayang flipping through the restaurant menu
(note: trial new hair style set by the stylist. but temporary only)

what to eat?

and this is the person who sat opposite to her, ME

continue to self-portrait. must take more before it goes back to original look

another one~

i'm surprise that they served all appetizers, desserts, and drinks at the same time.
is this the Hong Kong style or simply for their own convenient?

this is what she ordered. (forgot the name) The soup is mixture of spicy and sweet.
not really like it.

What I ordered. The cheese baked pork rice. much more better than hers.

After the dinner we went to buy movie tickets. Which movie? "Watchmen"!
Since we will celebrate Holington's birthday after the movie, we bought an earlier movie.
But still, the movie runtime is around 2 and a half hours.
We went Daiso Japan Store to spend our time before the movie started.
Too bad we still do not manage to finish browsing the entire store completely.
How was the movie? erhem....

I would say that it is a movie with complex storyline.
The plot itself is complicated as the director and scriptwriter are actually trying to squeeze all issues of the "Watchmen Comic" in a single movie. It ends up many audience will feel curious and blur on many parts of the movie. It's not an ordinary comic with only good and bad guys.
The story shows us that there are bads in good and goods in bad.
Sometimes, the decisions made by the custumed watchmen are questionable.
Audiences are left with dilemma on what happened in the movie.

"I suppose I was just thinking, 'That'd be a good way to start a comic book: have a famous super-hero found dead.' As the mystery unraveled, we would be led deeper and deeper into the real heart of this super-hero's world, and show a reality that was very different to the general public image of the super-hero." —Alan Moore on the basis for Watchmen

Alan Moore was the original story script writer of Watchmen.
Moore said, "What we wanted to do was show all of these people, warts and all. Show that even the worst of them had something going for them, and even the best of them had their flaws."
isn't all these sound familiar? Yupe, "Hancock" (2008) is another movie that hope to reveal true people heroes.
It's different here because Watchmen not only show their personal life. But also, the state of uncertainty or perplexity in their life. The struggle between responsibility, values and man-kind.
which Watchman holds the correct perception in curing the society maladies?

What i commented in Justin's blog:
thanks for the review...
though after reading your review,
i feel that the story is a little bit complex
but still i dare myself to watch this high-rated movie recommended by you.
after the movie i was impressed more on the technical parts....(soundtracks, effects, motion capture, etc)
But i get second thrill when i come back and read what's Watchmen all about in Wiki....
started to understand most of the parts that i was confused in the theater...
thanks for your post-explanations too!

Like Justin's mentioned, some might dislike the ending.
It's not an unwrapped ending, just the matter of whether you like how it wrapped up or not only.
Don't worry, it's not an ending like Ong Bak 2 or Kung Fu Chef.

You can take a closer look on the "quotes" in every posters.
Some of it are really meaningful~
