Simcity
I would rather be an innovator than an inventor.
It takes too big the risk to invent a total new concept or product and educate your customer.
I prefer exploiting an existing market.
I like to spend my time observing people's business, and ask myself how I would run this business if it's on my hand.
Sometime I can spot out an entry point, a point which you can cut into it and create a huge value that people really want.
Of course, these are pure theoretical and are yet to be proven.
I'm still finding a set of rules for myself to follow.
The first rule is found 2 months ago which I said that I will start leading kind of nomad life.
Startup a business, run it, fight until the market gets saturated, throw away and re-run the whole cycle.
But I have no idea what kind of business I would startup.
I have been searching for the answer since then.
Running a small business is not a big deal for me.
My parents have guided me all the way.
Running a larger business than what my parents have taught me is something real new and challenging to me.
I start to realize that there's kind of bottleneck for every small business.
To generate 10% more revenue is about providing a better service, smiles more often and talks more softly.
But to ten fold the revenue you need to play some magic and this is something that I have no knowledge at all.
As the quest goes on, the picture of second rule has became clearer.
I like innovating something.
I like blue ocean strategy.
I like value innovation.
So I guess I have found the second rule.
Yeah, I will startup business that I can find the entry point.
I will not clone any business and fight them head to head.
I will try to find a point that I can innovate.
I will try to create new value for the business that's so important that makes the existing value insignificant.
This is how business life can be fun.
And this rule can help me to focus on what I should be looking at.
