Talk big, act less
Protesting about LYNAS will cost you almost nothing.
I agree that it's a good exercise as a patriotic citizen.
I don't believe in the safety standard of LYNAS neither.
We do have a Six Sigma quality control in Malaysia but the problem is that the data is always a modified one.
"Stop Lynas and stop a possibility of future disaster!"
It sounds perfectly cool until the moment that the protesters are acting like first class citizens and feel that they're doing something "green".
It's a total bullshit.
I would like to say this: "Throw your smartphone away if you're into green!"
A smartphone itself is made of rare earth material that pollutes the land in China and kills people off the record.
It's assembled by the mighty FoxConn who treats every human they employ like an animal.
A big part of the electricity that's used in making all the parts in the smartphone are supplied by the burning of coal.
Coal mining kills 6,027 people in China in 2004 alone and the impact on environment is much larger than what a tiny LYNAS can do.
People will try to convince themselves in whatever excuse that fits to continue using their smartphone talking about green on Facebook.
The truth is that people would rather sacrifice other's benefit than their own in pursuing idealism.
