Rural people do not know the truth

The rural people do not know the truth. The vote they just throw into the electoral box has exchanged them the biggest tax on poor in Malaysia's history.

GST is designed to tax everyone who spends. To the rich in Malaysia, 6% is barely nothing consider that they don't really spend as much as they earn. As the government promises to balance GST by reducing corporate tax and personal income tax, it is certain that the rich will become richer.

6% is a lot of money. To the poor families that rarely pay any tax in past because of tax exemption, 6% can mean RM 60 if they spend RM 1000 monthly and a total tax of RM 720 annually. BR1M of RM 500 is not enough to cover the tax. It's good business for the government, good profit margin.

GST makes no sense. Other than it's just another tax to bring more income, government does not give any rationality on the policy. With the debt rising unstoppable, our economy is now on a critical junction. Instead of improving efficiency on spending by overcoming corruption and cronyism, government taxes on the already tight budget people.

It's a vicious cycle and definitely a spiraling down one. While big bosses and cronies are laughing their whole way to the bank, the thin blanket of the poor is going thinner.
